Andrés Laguna-Tapia, PhD, holds a doctorate from the "Society and Culture" program of the Department of Cultural Anthropology and History of America and Africa at the University of Barcelona and a master's degree in Latin American Studies from the University of Barcelona, the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and Pompeu Fabra University. He has a degree in philosophy and letters from the Catholic University of Bolivia "San Pablo," has studied anthropology at the Free University of Brussels, and literature at the University of Buenos Aires. Along with different teams of journalists, he won the “Huáscar Cajías” Medal at the National Journalism Award, the national journalism award in the press category, and twice the Plurinational Eduardo Abaroa Award in the cultural journalism category. Currently, Laguna-Tapia is the director of the Research Center in Communication and Humanities and head of the Communication program at the Private University of Bolivia in Cochabamba.
