Luis Alejandro Romero-Soto, a Chemical Engineer from Universidad Mayor San Andrés and holding a PhD in Biotechnology Engineering from Lund University in Sweden, represented Bolivia at Falling Walls 2020 in Berlin. Selected among 15 global finalists for the Innovation Week 2020 in Germany, trained by the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. In 2023, he was invited to the Science and Research Workshop in Germany as a Notable South American Scientist. Romero-Soto has excelled in scientific outreach at international events such as the Global Bioeconomy Summit and TEDx. He is currently a researcher in Biorefinery at Inland University in Norway and a lecturer at UPB.
