SILVIA CECILIA TAPIA SILES, PH.D.

Silvia Tapia is an electromechanical engineer (UPB) and completed a master's degree in Robotics Research at the École Centrale de Nantes in France, thanks to a scholarship from the French government. She obtained a doctorate in robotics at UPMC in Paris, in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Technology in Genoa, funded by a European underwater robotics project. She has worked as a postdoctoral researcher in biomedical engineering at the Institute for Medical Science and Technology in Dundee, Scotland, where she participated in a water colonoscopy project. Currently, she works as a research professor at UPB, where she also leads the Industrial Technology and Robotics Research Laboratory (LITIR).
