Center for Legal Research
Description
The Legal Research Center of UPB (CIJ-UPB) is a pioneering center in the study and promotion of transformative law, with an emphasis on civil, commercial, financial, stock market, and insurance law. This innovative approach positions CIJ-UPB as a unique academic unit that makes original contributions to the development of legal knowledge and the design of policies aimed at social and economic progress.
The research projects of CIJ-UPB aim to identify and propose solutions to the legal barriers limiting the economic growth of the region. Among its main areas of study are the recodification of private law, bankruptcy legislation, and business restructuring, the regulation of the stock market, as well as the analysis of contracts and international commercial agreements.
In addition to research, CIJ-UPB develops teaching and university extension activities through the organization of seminars, workshops, and conferences aimed at disseminating best legal and regulatory practices. These activities are directed towards legal professionals, entrepreneurs, investors, and representatives of civil society interested in sustainable economic development.
CIJ-UPB is based on the principle that an appropriate legal environment is essential for economic growth, the guarantee of rights, and the improvement of living conditions. Within this framework, it promotes cooperation between the public and private sectors and contributes to strengthening transformative law as a complement to social and economic constitutionalism and the international human rights systems.
