

Satellite Control and Monitoring Center
Description
The Control and Monitoring Center for Satellites (COMS) is a unit dedicated to the acquisition, monitoring, and analysis of satellite data, with active participation in international space networks and projects. Its work strengthens space research, practical training in telecommunications, and global scientific collaboration from UPB.
Lines of work and application
Satellite monitoring and telemetry: data collection and tracking of satellites through ground stations integrated into international networks.
Receiving satellite images: downloading real-time images for analysis, research, and support to various space missions.
Collaboration in space missions: support for international projects through networks such as SatNOGS and global organizations in the space sector.
Training and academic support: practical support in telecommunications for the Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications career.
Space research: promotion and development of university research on topics related to space and satellite telecommunications.
Networks and alliances
The COMS is part of the global SatNOGS (Satellite Networked Open Ground Station) network.
