Experimental Economics Laboratory
Description
The Experimental Economics Laboratory (LABEX) aims to deeply understand human behavior and propose concrete solutions to specific problems, in order to make public and private strategies more efficient and contribute to social well-being.
LABEX's research is based on behavioral economics and experimental economics. From the standpoint of behavioral economics, it analyzes how factors such as emotions, moral values, and social influences affect decision-making, often rapidly and non-reflectively. In this context, LABEX studies the behavior of individuals and groups in controlled environments, through economic experiments with real incentives, allowing for the design of behavioral interventions (nudges) that facilitate more efficient decisions.
On its part, experimental economics provides rigorous methodologies to identify causal relationships in social phenomena. Through controlled random trials, both in the laboratory and in real-world contexts, LABEX evaluates the effectiveness of public policies and business strategies before their larger-scale implementation.
Services
